University of Saint Francis to host Women’s Soccer Festival

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The University of Saint Francis Women’s Soccer program announces it will host the first annual Cougar Soccer Festival on Saturday March 25, 2006. The Festival brings some of the best NCAA Division I programs in the Midwest to Fort Wayne for competition at Bishop John M. D’Arcy Stadium.
"We are excited to bring this level of women’s soccer to Fort Wayne in the spring and we are hoping to make it an annual event," USF head women’s soccer coach Ken Nuber said. "It will prove a great showcase for our University and these top programs in the community."
The event features 2004 NCAA National Champion University of Notre Dame, eight-time Atlantic-10 champion University of Dayton, and 2005 NCAA tournament qualifier Valparaiso University in addition to local sides IPFW and Saint Francis.
All-day admission to the Festival is $5.00 and all tickets will be sold at the D’Arcy Stadium Ticket Office on the day of the event

A portion of the proceeds to be donated to Augie Gonzalez, a Fort Wayne area soccer official, to aide in his recovery from cancer.
